We wanted to share the lovely thank you letter we received from CHF Crumlin regarding the amount we raised for them from our Christmas Jumper Day back in December. Thanks again to everyone who contributed and to all the children and staff for making it such a fun day for the school.
This year Christmas Jumper Day was held on Friday 11th December. All the children and teachers put on their best Christmas jumpers and they all looked super festive. As well as having great fun dressing up in their Christmas attire, the school also managed to raise €400 for Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Thank you to everyone who donated money to this great cause.
We are delighted to announce that €1,824.65 was raised by the parents, children, and staff of Greystones CNS for the Peter McVerry Trust in the recent shoebox appeal. This year, as with many things, we had to make some adjustments for Covid but the spirit of the shoebox appeal was kept alive. The children placed the cash donations in shoeboxes in their classrooms and a member of the Peter McVerry Trust team spoke to them via zoom on Friday 4th December. Thank you to everyone who donated.
To see more of the amazing work carried out by the Trust, please take a look at their webpage.
We are still proceeding with the Peter McVerry shoebox appeal this year but it will be a little different due to Covid. The Trust have asked if we could make a cash donation instead.
To keep the spirit of the initiative alive for the kids, a Christmas shoebox will be placed in each classroom from Monday 23rd November to Friday 4th December so that the children can "fill" the shoebox for those in need with a cash donation.
On Friday 4th December, a representative from the Trust will talk to the children via Zoo to say "thank you" and to explain the awesome work the Trust do each year.
Please could parents place any cash donation in an envelope and send in with the kids from Monday 23rd November.
As always, we thank you for your continued generosity to the Peter McVerry Trust.
